NHDP Chair Ray Buckley on NHGOP's 'Frivolous' Budget Complaint

Concord, NH - New Hampshire Democratic Party Chair Ray Buckley released the following statement on the New Hampshire Republican Party's frivolous budget complaint.

"The NH GOP is proving once again that they have no ideas to offer the people of New Hampshire to create jobs and move our economy forward," said Buckely. "Instead of reevaluating their far right stances to actually appeal to voters, the state GOP has decided to focus on a pathetic political ploy that will cost Granite Staters by wasting the time of our Justice Department."

"Having suffered historic losses at all levels this past November, the New Hampshire Republican Party is reduced to political grandstanding while Democrats pursue policies that will help the lives of hundreds of thousands of Granite State citizens."

"This state's Republican party is so bereft of ideas to move New Hampshire forward that they are reduced to filing frivolous lawsuits in a Justice Department already overworked as a result of the draconian cuts imposed on it by Chairwoman's Horn's mentor Bill O'Brien," said Buckley.  "Franky, I think if any deadlines should be on Chairwoman Horn's mind, it should be the deadline that her taxes are due on."

Franky, I didn't hear anything from Buckley except to try to blame it on the GOP. If Hassan is violating the constitution it is up to the voters to know that and for the Dems to stop worrying about who or who hasn't paid their taxes. That is old news - get over it and get to work.

Er....

The one thing missing?

Checking the dates for the latest 10 state budget proposals, spanning 20 years, and only one time did was the supplemental language provided by Feb. 15.

Really? Come on...

I wonder how Ray Buckley as Democrat chair feels after his party last Wednesday defeated the 1-yr old Tax Credit for School Scholarships initiative that would have given lesser well-off families and students with no chance to go to private schools, the right - and the CHOICE - to use donated vouchers and their tax dollars to get a private school, charter school, or better public school education. No, sadly, even though this is a measure that the Democrats would love to say they aspire to do, the Teacher's Union has them in their pocket.

What about that 165 million Hassan to giving to UNH. Just a gift to UNION PROFESSORS and nothing at all to do with investments in education

Democrats don't deal with budgets. They prefer open, unlimited check writing. Budgets cramp their style.

I've got a great idea. Jennifer Horn, pay your 92,000 lien on your home that you owe the Feds. Annie Kuster paid her taxes, time to put up or shut up Jennifer.

Also try coming up with ideas instead of incriminations that are frivolous...

Otherwise you are nothing but a blowhard blowing your own Horn (pun intended).

Portsmouth Herald, comes:
“All around the nation we find examples of casino operators over-promising and under-delivering on tax revenues. And we see states, addicted to gambling money, unable to resist operators’ demands for expansion when they say they need it to keep the money flowing.

Keene Sentinel:
“And then there’s the casino fee. It concerns us that Hassan is placing so much weight on a projected revenue source that may not exist anytime soon, if at all.

Nashua Telegraph, which has supported casino gambling, challenged Hassan:
“While we are on record in support of gambling for economic and other reasons, even we have to admit that Hassan’s decision to count on casino money is quite the gamble — not just for next year’s budget, but for her political career as well.”

Union Leader which — love or hate — hit the nail on the head as did other Members of the Fourth Estate:
“It is inadvisable to base a budget, whether a household’s or a state’s, on income that is unlikely to materialize. Alas, Gov. Maggie Hassan has done that. Again.”
