A New Location for Londonderry's Dog Park?

The town's dog park group reportedly has its eye on a new location.

The town's Dog Park Study Committee is looking at a piece of land on South Road as a possible site for a dog park, according to the Union Leader.

The site in question is conservation land located at 95 South Road, and the dog park committee is hoping the Conservation Commission will allow it to use a one-acre section of the property.

The committee had been eyeing town land on Sanborn Road for a potential site, but the Town Council informed the group last year that the site was being dedicated to affordable housing for seniors.

This is a terrible location for a dog park. It will be very disruptive to neighbors. The area is being used for illicit activities that the police, conservation committee and Londonderry Trailways don'd care about now. A dog park will create more noise, more traffic and pollute the area which is supposed to be CONSERVATION land. This area is home to beautiful wildlife including turtles, rabbits and turkeys (as seen here http://img515.imageshack.us/img515/3871/turkey1e.jpg this morning) , deer and the occasional moose, pheasants etc. Find another location, or better yet drive 1.7 miles down the road to the Derry Dog Park.
