Woman Seriously Injured in Rollover Crash on I-93

The accident was first reported around 5 p.m.

UPDATE, 7:40 P.M.: State police said a Manchester woman suffered significant injuries to her lower body in a rollover crash on Interstate 93 on Friday night.

At 5:02 p.m., state police were dispatched to a rollover on I-93 south in Londonderry. Upon arrival, they determined that two vehicles were involved in the collision.

The first vehicle was a 2009 Nissan Cube driven by Paul Ashton, 50, of Boston, Mass. He was not injured in the crash.

The second vehicle was a 2010 Mazda A6 driven by Alise Paraskeva, 26, of Manchester.

State police said the accident investigation determined that both vehicles were traveling south on I-93 when Paraskeva's vehicle struck Ashton's vehicle. Paraskeva's vehicle then went off the road and rolled over several times, trapping her underneath. She was taken to Parkland Medical Center in Derry for what police described as serious, but non-life threatening injuries to her lower extremities.

State police were assisted at the scene by the Londonderry Fire Department. I-93 was restricted to the southbound breakdown lane for about 20 minutes. The high speed lane remained closed for another 25 minutes while the scene was documented and the vehicles removed.

The accident was reported shortly after 5 p.m. on I-93 south between exits 5 and 4, according to emergency radio communications. Initial reports were that it was a one-car rollover, with entrapment. It wasn't immediately clear if anyone was injured.
