Chris Melcher for Town Council!!!

I remember Chris from when he was one of my daughter’s best brainiac friends in high school. He had volunteered to work in the school’s office. I think he helped there every week for all four years. At a very young age, he would get involved. I don't know what you were doing when you were in high school, but when I was in high school..... Let’s not go there! Years later I would see him in the health care office that I worked for.  I worked out of the office, so once in a while I would drop by for something. He was the new guy, that if he was not in the middle of helping someone else, would quickly jump out of his seat to help you. Only a few years had gone by, when one day I dropped in to find that Chris now had a big office with large windows. Chris was now technically my boss. Kind of a shocker since I am about twenty-five years older than him. It was never a power trip with him though, since we both just worked to help the clients. Daily for years, with plenty of serious issues regarding client’s care, Chris was the go to guy for fixing problems. In a flash he would go above and beyond the call of duty. In what could be a stressful environment, he made things go smoothly. I can even remember him having forms faxed to an office for me, just to save on a bit a travel time.

I eventually accepted an offer from another company, so I have mostly not seen Chris in a while, but I am not surprised to hear that he continues to be extremely helpful and productive at his job and with his free time. I did see Chris a few times whenever I went to see some speakers regarding worthy causes. I would be in the back, but I was able to spot that familiar bald head, every time right up front and on the edge of his seat. I have even been perplexed by his level of dedication for progress. When I was his age, my free time would mostly consist of having a couple of beers, and playing Zelda, or some other Nintendo game. How can he be so mature in just his late twenties, as to never at least waste a few minutes with the games that they have nowadays? Chris has a full-throttle approach to helping others all year round. He does however take a healthy break at least twice a year. I have heard about cruise ships and most recently a trip to Florida.

The work ethic that Chris has appears to run in his family. For years his father was our mailman in Londonderry, was always in a great mood, and also went far beyond what was required of him. When my oldest daughter wanted to turn our basement into an apartment-like area, Chris’s uncle and aunt showed up and very quickly made a very nice place for my daughter. Both of these Melchers showed no interest in money. They were by far just interested in the reward of helping others.  They did a very fine job that we were always very happy with.

I can’t vote for Chris since I moved a few towns away, so this is the best way that I thought could help Chris and my old town. I lived in Londonderry from 1985 until 2009. I have never come across a better choice of whom to vote for. Please take my word for it and vote for Chris. You and the town are very lucky to have him and will never be disappointed.
