Veteran cycling coach publishes free guide to help cycling enthusiasts improve their technique, performance and enjoyment

Veteran cycling coach Martin Birney of SportActive has recently published a new guide to help individuals looking to get into cycling to improve their skill level and overall experience of the sport. In order to benefit as many people as possible, he is making it available online for free.

As Martin explains…

“Thanks to the remarkable efforts of cyclists such as Bradley Wiggins, Mark Cavendish and Christopher Froome, road cycling has undoubtedly caught the attention of the public in recent years, with more and more people taking up the sport every year. However, a sizeable proportion of those who are inspired to take up road cycling quickly become demoralised with the sport due to a number of preventable factors, such as choosing the wrong type of bike and not learning how to use gears or brakes effectively.
