Windham Actors Guild presents "A Little Broadway, A Little Jazz, A Little Glee.”

Windham, NH, Aug 19th, 2012 – The Windham Actors Guild (WAG) will hold their 1st annual Fundraiser Gala on Friday, September 14th at 7:00p.m. at Castleton Banquet and Conference Center. Guests will enjoy dinner, entertainment, a cash bar as well as a raffle and silent auction. The theme of the evening is “A Little Broadway, A Little Jazz, and a Little Glee” and will feature songs from each of these genres.  Music will be highlighted from Rodgers and Hammerstein, Cole Porter, Stephen Sondheim among many others.  The cabaret style evening will feature solos, duets, and ensemble numbers—with some surprises from Queen and Billy Joel! 

Several Windham residents are lending their talents to the evening’s performances - Cori Adams, Irene and Chris Cohen, Jonathan Kaplan, Angela Sanscrainte, Keith Strang, Deb Talcott.  Jonathan Yourtee is an Artist Diploma Candidate at the Longy School of Music has returned on the keyboard following his music direction of WAG’s inaugural performance of Windham On Broadway.

State Representative Mary Griffin, is a Gold Medal award winning tap dancer, former band vocalist and entertainer and a member and soloist at the Salem Senior Center. Mary was a Miss Senior New Hampshire Pageant 1993 and a top 10 finalist at the Miss Senior American Pageant 1993 held at the Grand Ole Opry, in Nashville, TN.  She is also the host and MC for Windham Watch, on WCTV, Windham.

Melissa Runde is an experienced performer in community theatre with credits including Sandy in Grease and Susan in Big and Claire in Rumors. Her professional acting background includes television commercials and industrial videos, and extra work in two films, The Women and The Invention of Lying. This is her first production with WAG but her second time working with a Windham group, as she appeared as Maria in The Sound of Music with Windham Performing Arts.

Keith Belanger is back following his musical direction of WAG’s recent highly successful production of Music Man this past springKeith is highly sought as a music director and a performer in the New Hampshire musical community and frequently performs with his wife Katherine (credits include Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors and the Wicked Witch in the musical The Wizard of Oz) and Katelyn Parker (Cinderella in Rodger’s and Hammerstein’s Cinderella). The evening also includes the vocal talents of Bobbi Lynn Cote, a 5 time award winning vocalist who also holds national songwriting awards, and who has also appeared in the Wolfboro Players production of Cinderella in the role of the Queen.
