The Fools to Play Tupelo in July

It's one of four new shows announced this week.

We have FOUR new shows to announce this week!

July 13 THE FOOLSThe Fools barged onto the Boston music scene with their first single "She Looks All Right in the Dark". Known for their outrageous live performances the band quickly gathered a loyal and ever-growing audience. Their first national (and then international) hit record, "Psycho Chicken," was a parody of Talking Heads' Psycho Killer. With the signing of the band to EMI Records came the first two albums "Sold Out" and "Heavy Mental". Touring North America first with The Knack and then with Van Halen helped to place the band firmly on the national stage. European tours, including shows with Cheap Trick and Journey, resulted in huge overseas record sales. Back home again The Fools released their biggest album, "World Dance Party". Do not miss catching the legendary Fools live. The mix of great music performed by uniquely talented musicians with a hefty helping of comedy comes together in an unmatched charm that has been lighting up millions of smiles over the years. And it all keeps getting better with time. Experience The Fools and smile for yourself.

July 21 JEFFREY GAINES and JANN KLOSEJeffrey Gaines brought a unique, original voice to the sea of singer/songwriters that emerged in the 1990s. After high school, Gaines signed with Chrysalis Records in 1990. His self-titled 1992 debut, featuring The Band's Garth Hudson on saxophone, organ and accordion, drew critical praise from far and wide, and put him on the musical map. "Somewhat Slightly Dazed" followed in 1994, and in 1998 Gaines returned with "Galore." In 2001, Gaines released "Always Be" to both critical and commercial praise. Featuring his emotional interpretation of "In Your Eyes" and his own soaringly beautiful "Always Be," the album hit #5 on R&R Callout America CHR/Pop list, also reaching #45 on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart. The New York Post proclaimed Always Be as "a dozen-song mix---that completely illustrates the depth he is capable of." Jeffrey Gaines Live is the singer/songwriter's sixth release and perhaps the one which means the most to him since it is a special tribute to his fans. Jann Klose is as comfortable performing with pop and folk singer-songwriters from Rebecca Loebe and Brett Dennen to Suzanne Vega and Pete Seeger, as he has with jam bands including his friends in Rusted Root and songwriting partner Gary Lucas. He’s performed with acts rooted in jazz and blues such as Vonda Shepard, Michael Kaeshammer and the late Les Paul, and classical rockers Renaissance (both with Annie Haslam and the group’s co-founder Jim McCarty, also of The Yardbirds). Critics have placed him in the chamber pop as well as the singer-songwriter genres, and Jann welcomes their varied reflections, “There are no limits when it comes to making music. I’m defined by who I am and what I do, not how some marketing executive pigeonholes me. It’s melodic, lyrical, and rhythmic music. Music is about what the listener hears.”

August 29 JAMIE LYNN HART and MIEKA PAULEYBoston based artist Jamie Lynn Hart creates a seamless blend of rock and pop that backs up her powerhouse belt and infectious melodies. With her captivating voice, poetic lyrics and mastered musicianship, she creates a commanding sound reminiscent of Joss Stone meets Grace Potter.
Mieka Pauley possesses a voice that flows like good whiskey and a frankness that makes Alanis Morissette look shy. She conjures up a sonic immediacy with the same masterful command as Ani DiFranco with driving, yearning melodies that stand alongside the work of Michelle Shocked, Neko Case and Emmylou Harris.

October 25 PAUL THORN BANDIt has been said that a Paul Thorn concert is like "taking a 6-pack to church!" Proof to that can be found by listening to his song "Mission Temple Fireworks Stand." The first thing you notice is the voice, distinctively soulful and funky, the voice of a man who has walked a long, hot span over dusty Mississippi country roads.
