Tupelo Announces Five New Shows

Ronnie Earl will play the Londonderry music hall later this year.

We have FIVE new shows to announce!

October 11 CHAD PERRONE: More than a decade after breaking into the Boston music scene, Chad Perrone continues to play to large crowds of dedicated followers, friends and new supporters. Since 2005, Perrone has put out 3 full-length studio records, a live record, garnered five Boston Music Award Nominations and had the opportunity to share the stage with the likes of Sting, Guster, The Goo Goo Dolls, SafetySuit, Parachute and more. From his early years fronting the band Averi, to his departure and solo efforts to-date, Perrone continues to put out records that have found their way to more than one reviewer's 'top of the year' list. Frequenting renowned clubs in New England and New York, whether with a full band, as part of a duo (with his best friend Dennis Carroll on piano), or through an intimate solo performances, Perrone continues to bring his recorded music to life. "I know my songs end up being serious, but I'm really quite the goofball. I just try to keep the shows themselves light. We'll be serious when the time calls for it, and hopefully laugh a lot during the rest of the time."

October 13 JOHN MAYALL: As the elder statesman of British blues, it is John Mayall's lot to be more renowned as a bandleader and mentor than as a performer in his own right. Throughout the '60s, his band, the Bluesbreakers, acted as a finishing school for the leading British blues-rock musicians of the era. Guitarists Eric Clapton, Peter Green, and Mick Taylor joined his band in a remarkable succession in the mid-'60s, honing their chops with Mayall before going on to join Cream, Fleetwood Mac, and the Rolling Stones, respectively. John McVie and Mick Fleetwood, Jack Bruce, Aynsley Dunbar, Dick Heckstall-Smith, Andy Fraser (of Free), John Almond, and Jon Mark also played and recorded with Mayall for varying lengths of times in the '60s.

November 3 DADA: Since the release of dada’s groundbreaking 1992 debut Puzzle, the trio has created an array of songs boasting progressive rock musicianship, dazzling vocal harmonies and melodic power pop layered with inspired psychedelic and experimental rock impulses. Adding to the trio’s groundbreaking line of attack are the marathon-length shows that deliver on the promise that every performance is the only one of its kind. Two decades after the Los Angeles outfit embarked on its singular journey, singer-guitarist Michael Gurley, singer-bassist Joie Calio and drummer Phil Leavitt are celebrating dada’s 20th anniversary with an extended U.S. tour that kicks off at The Key Club in Hollywood on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013.

November 22 SONNY LANDRETH: Landreth is best known for his slide playing, having developed a technique where he also frets notes and plays chords and chord fragments behind the slide while he plays. Landreth plays with the slide on his little finger, so that his other fingers have more room to fret behind the slide. He's also known for his right-hand technique, which involves tapping, slapping, and picking strings, using all of the fingers on his right hand. He wears a special thumb pick/ flat pick hybrid on his thumb so he can bear down on a pick while simultaneously using his finger style technique for slide.
