Five Things: School Board Off This Week

1. TODAY'S FORECAST: The forecast is a little bleaker today in Windham with light rain and a high of 57. Tonight will be partly cloudy with a low of 31.

2. SCHOOL BOARD OFF THIS WEEK: The board will not meet this week. It will convene again on Nov. 20.

3. BLOOD DRIVE THIS FRIDAY AT ST. JUDE PARISH: The Community Service Committee at the church is sponsoring a blood drive this Friday, Nov. 16 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. You must be 17 or older to give blood. For more information,  contact Vinny Curro at 603-867-7472 or email: vincurro@comcast.net

4. THIS DAY IN HISTORY: Near the end of a weeklong national salute to Americans who served in the Vietnam War, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial is dedicated in Washington after a march to its site by thousands of veterans of the conflict. The long-awaited memorial was a simple V-shaped black-granite wall inscribed with the names of the 57,939 Americans who died in the conflict, arranged in order of death, not rank, as was common in other memorials.
