Londonderry Man, Air Force Veteran Dies at 72

Philip W. Hulit, 72, of Londonderry, NH, died Friday September 20, 2013 in Southern NH Medical Center in Nashua, NH. He was born in Portland, ME on July 1, 1941, a son of the late James Elroy and Alice (Jordan) Hulit. A resident of Londonderry for the past 46 years, he formerly lived in Missouri while serving in the Air Force. Philip was a graduate of N. Yarmouth Academy in N. Yarmouth, ME and received his associate's degree from Lowell Tech in Lowell, MA. He served in the US Air Force from 1962 – 1966, and later in the Air Force Reserves. Philip was employed as an electronics engineer for Raytheon Corp. for 38 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #27 in Londonderry. Philip enjoyed flying R/C model airplanes, golfing, and fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joan C. (Paterson) Hulit of Londonderry; two daughters, Teresa Flaherty and her husband John of Manchester, NH, and Shelly Perry and her husband Daniel of Strafford, NH; two sons, Kevin Hulit and his wife Victoria of Boscawen, NH, and Scott Hulit and his wife Katie of Derry, NH; five grandchildren; two brothers, Ronald Hulit of Windham, ME, and James Hulit and his wife Patty of Buxton, ME; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, September 23rd from 5 - 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:00am in the funeral home. The burial will be in the Pillsbury Cemetery, Hovey Rd., Londonderry.
