Navy Veteran from Derry Dies

William G. Kimball, 72, of Derry, NH died July 21, 2013 at his son’s home in Manchester, NH. Mr. Kimball was born in Beverly, MA on January 24, 1941 a son of the late William J. and Edna (Healey) Kimball. Bill had lived in Derry and Londonderry for most of his life. He was a 1959 graduate of Pinkerton Academy in Derry and later graduated from NH Tech. He served with the US Navy aboard the USS Gearing.

Bill was employed for 35 years as a fitter/welder for Process Engineering, Inc. in Plaistow, NH which later became Chart Industries. Bill enjoyed golf, painting, gardening, trips to Foxwoods, and watching live entertainment. He also enjoyed his travels to Florida, Arizona, Las Vegas, Kansas and the Bahamas. Bill was a good husband, father and grandfather, and had a great sense of humor.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Eleanor “Ellie” Kimball of Derry, one son, Jeffrey W. Kimball and his wife Wanda of Manchester, one grandson, Ethan W. Kimball of Manchester, also several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Marilyn Provencher.

Following cremation, calling hours will be held on Thursday July 25, 2013 from 4 – 7pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A memorial service will follow at 7:00pm in the funeral home.
