Derry Police Arrest Bank Robber

The man fled from TD Bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Derry police arrested a man in connection with the robbery of the TD Bank at 35 Manchester Road on April 22.

Lucien P. Goguen, 49, who said he was homeless, was charged with one count of robbery, a Class B Felony, according to Derry police.

Bank employees said a man entered the bank and handed the teller a grocery bag and a note instructing her to put money into it, police said.

The man took the bag containing an undetermined amount of cash and fled from the bank on foot. He was last seen walking away from the bank in a westerly direction.

No one was injured in the incident and no weapon was shown.

Derry officers investigating the case checked a man walking on Scobie Pond Road who fit the physical description of the suspect, though wearing different clothes.

A State Police K-9 unit was requested and responded to assist and located discarded clothing in the wooded area between TD Bank and the area where this man was detained. Police said the clothing appeared to match the clothing worn by the robbery suspect, and cash and a grocery bag were also recovered in that area.
