Teen Severely Injured in Two-Car Crash

The driver was transported to Parkland Medical Center by medical helicopter.

UPDATE (6:59 p.m.): Few details were available at the scene of a two-car accident that left a Hyundai destroyed near the Exit 4 entrance to I-93 southbound.

One lane on Route 102 in Londonderry was closed on Wednesday night as police and fire officials were assessing the cause of the accident. A black SUV with damage to the right tail light area was moved away from the accident.

The 19-year-old driver of the Hyundai was transported by medical helicopter to Parkland Medical Center in Derry. According to an officer at the scene, he was the only person in the vehicle at the time of the accident.

Emergency crews are responding to a multiple vehicle crash with entrapment on Route 102 in Londonderry.

The crash was reported around 5:15 p.m. on Route 102 near Interstate 93, according to emergency radio communications. Three vehicles are reportedly involved, and the Jaws of Life are being used to remove occupants from the vehicle.

A second ambulance has been requested, and a medical helicopter has been called to Parkland Medical Center in Derry to transport a 19-year-old male patient with severe head trauma.

Route 102 has been shut down in the area of the crash, and motorists are urged to avoid the area if at all possible.
