Saw Blades: Not so sharp decisions

Concord – A loss prevention officer at Lowe's saw something out of the ordinary: A shopper stuffing several saw blades down his pants, before leaving the store without paying for the $200 worth of items. The Manchester man allegedly stole: a 7-inch diameter saw blade, 8-inch ceramic tile blades, and a 50-foot extension cord (unlike the blades, the cord was slipped inside a jacket). Merrimack – A local woman is serving up to a year in prison in connection with the theft of 11 sets of Legos at Target. Hillsborough County indictments included allegations the woman, a former consignment shop owner, also stole Legos from Toys R Us and a cradle swing from Target. Read the story on Merrimack Patch.

Hampton – The owner of a nail salon offered an Internal Revenue Service agent $4,000 for "the purpose of corruptly influencing the agent in the exercise of his official duties," U.S. Attorney John P. Kacavas said. The businessman pleaded guilty in federal court to paying the IRS agent $2,295 in 2012 and his sentencing is this July. He faces up to 15 years in prison and up to a $250,000 fine. Late-night Dumpster Dive Upsets Neighbor

Portsmouth – Police dispatch fielded a complaint from Islington Street that a man was eating raw meat out of a dumpster and was otherwise making a mess of it. As the caller reported it, at 11:35 p.m. Monday, the hungry man was walking away and yelling. Read the police log on Portsmouth-NH Patch.
