Teen Overdoses on Cough Medicine

The following are excerpts from the Londonderry police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Thursday, Jan. 24

  • 10:49 a.m.: Police received a report of a hit-and-run accident in the parking lot of Market Basket on Garden Lane.
  • 4:18 p.m.: Police received a report of a motor vehicle accident with no injury on Nashua Road.
  • 4:20 p.m.: Police assisted the Londonderry Fire Department on King George Drive with a report of a 13-year-old female who had overdosed on a number of different cough medicines. The subject was transported to the hospital.
  • 5:23 p.m.: Police assisted the Londonderry Fire Department on Hall Road with a report of a 3-month-old girl choking on aspirin. The child was choking on her liquid medication upon arrival but was conscious and alert and was not transported to the hospital.
  • 6:57 p.m.: Police received a report of a hit and run accident on Nashua Road.
  • 7:54 p.m.: Joseph Gaetano Medaglia, 26, of 63 Fieldstone Drive, Londonderry was arrested on a warrant for the Salem Police Department. He was processed and turned over to Salem Police.
