Mass. Man Charged with Vandalism

Tuesday, May 2111:48 a.m.: A caller on Hovey Road reported that his mailbox was damaged.1:08 p.m.: Brian Predki, 44, of 29 River Road, Andover, Mass. was arrested on a warrant and charged with criminal mischief (vandalism). Bail was set at $3,000 personal recognizance and he is scheduled to appear in Derry District Court on June 10.1:35 p.m.: Police received a report that a male juvenile fell on the escalator at Manchester-Boston Regional Airport.4:10 p.m.: A caller on Sandybrook Lane reported a sick raccoon.5:14 p.m.: Police received a report of a motor vehicle accident on Nashua Road.11:20 p.m.: Police took an intoxicated male into protective custody at Whippersnapper's on Nashua Road.Wednesday, May 221:05 a.m.: Police received a report …

Two Indicted for Londonderry Burglaries

The incidents reportedly occurred between September of 2012 and January of 2013.

Two local residents have been indicted in connection with several burglaries allegedly committed in Londonderry between September of 2012 and January of 2013. Susan Marie Calhoun, 23, formerly of 31 Constitution Drive, Apt. C, Londonderry was indicted by a Rockingham County Superior Court grand jury this month on one count of burglary, one count of conspiracy to commit burglary, one count of theft by unauthorized taking. According to the indictments, Calhoun was involved in burglaries on 9 Anderson Lane and 99 Pillsbury Road in Londonderry. Douglas Eldon Moran of 44 Mill Road, Derry was indicted on two counts of burglary and one count of criminal mischief. Police Ramp Up Patrols for Holiday Weekend

Driving fatalities are down in 2013 heading into Memorial Day weekend.

Patrols will be ramped up in New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Maine this Memorial Day weekend, with police on the hunt for aggressive and impaired drivers. A line of troopers from all three New England states crowded into the Interstate 93 rest stop in Salem on Thursday to update the public on what measures will be taken over the holiday weekend. Major Russell Conte of the New Hampshire State Police said that the overall goal for police is to make safety a number one priority. "We want to make sure the message that we send is a strong one, that we want you to arrive alive," said Conte. Woman Indicted for Market Basket Theft

Sandra Boda allegedly took items and tried to return them for cash.

A Derry woman has been indicted on four theft charges for allegedly taking items from Market Basket in Londonderry and then attempting to return them for cash. Sandra Boda, 24, of 7 Boyd Road, #3 was indicted this month by a Rockingham County Superior Court grand jury on two counts of theft by deception, one count of attempted theft by deception and one count of accomplice to attempted theft by deception. The indictments allege that on Feb. 12 and Feb. 16, Boda and another person stole several items from the Londonderry Market Basket and then attempted to return them. The returns were made using a receipt obtained from the trash in an effort to make it look like they had purchased th emerchandise. Boda was arrested on a warrant on March 3 …

Woman Indicted for Stealing $1K from Salem Business

Cheryl Breton of Londonderry allegedly deposited $1,000 from Insurance Auto Auctions into her own personal account.

A Londonderry woman has been indicted on a theft charge for allegedly stealing $1,000 from a Salem company. Cheryl Breton, 50, of 590 Mammoth Road was indicted by a Rockingham County Superior Court grand jury this month on one count of theft by unauthorized taking. According to the indictment, Breton purposely exercised unauthorized control of $1,000 belonging to Insurance Auto Auctions of Salem on Dec. 29, 2011 by depositing a money order in the amount of $1,000 in her own personal account. Insurance Auto Auctions, located on Lowell Road, auctions cars and trucks that have been repossessed or given up for salvage. Breton was originally arrested on Jan. 29 by Salem Police and charged with two counts of theft.

Firefighter Honored for Saving Captain from Bad Fall

Londonderry resident Mark Bickford was recognized as Merrimack Firefighter of the Year.

A split-second decision that likely saved one of his friends from serious injury was just a piece of what earned Londonderry resident Mark Bickford this year's Firefighter of the Year award from the Merrimack Veterans of Foreign Wars. Bickford was one of four emergency services personnel from Merrimack honored by the VFW this month for outstanding service to the community. According to Merrimack Fire Capt. Brian Dubreuil, who nominated Bickford for the award, it's not just one night's actions that earned him the award, but his overall attitude toward his job, toward promoting the Merrimack Fire Department and to improving upon himself in his job on a regular basis.
