Ryan Griffin made a surprise visit to Londonderry last week.
Londonderry High School graduate Ryan Griffin was drafted by the Houston Texans in the sixth round of last month's National Football League Draft, according to the New Haven Register. Griffin, who played tight end for the University of Connecticut, was chosen with the 201st pick in the draft, one of five UConn grads selected. "I haven't done anything yet," Griffin told the New Haven Register. "I haven't put on shoulder pads, so I can't say that I am just going to walk in and take a spot. I have to earn everything that I am going to get, but I am ready to do that." Following the draft, Griffin swung by Londonderry High School last week, visiting with the school's trainer. The Londonderry High School girls' lacrosse team posted a photo tribute to the Boston Marathon bombing victims on Twitter this morning. The photo shows the members of the lacross team, arms outstretched, with the word "Boston" written on each of their arms. The photo was tweeted out by the Londonderry Athletic Twitter account around 8:30 a.m. Friday.

Baseball season is right around the corner.
It's that time of year again – baseball season! So when does the Londonderry's Little League season get underway? We've got the answer for you. According to the Londonderry Athletic and Field Association's calendar, the annual Opening Day Parade is scheduled to kick off on Saturday, April 20, from 7:45 to 8:30 a.m. in the Londonderry High School parking lot. Opening Day itself is from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on April 20, at the Londonderry Athletic and Field Association complex. A field cleanup is also scheduled for this Saturday, April 13, from 8 a.m. to noon.
