Community Corner

Greater Londonderry Crop Walk

                                  The Crop Walk is almost
here!

On Sunday, Oct. 6 we join with 2000 other communities in walking to
end hunger.

Crop Walk is sponsored by Church World Service
and it raises money for projects around the world that address the problems of
access to sufficient food and clean water. 25% of the money raised stays in the
local community.  This year,

the recipient of the local portion of the money is the food pantry operated by

the Upper Room in Derry. They do good work on a small budget and any help
we can give them is greatly appreciated.

We'd like to invite members of the local
community to join with St. Peter's and Londonderry United Methodist Church
in an event that raises both funds and awareness.  The walk is a
three mile route that begins and ends on Londonderry Common. Even on a
less than beautiful day last year, this was a wonderful event.

Individuals and families are invited to join
in. This is a particularly  good event for kids as the walk is entirely
on sidewalks or trails.  If you would like to donate, but are unable to
attend, click the link below to sponsor a walker.
